Description

Our self-catering cottages are a leisurely four hour drive from Johannesburg and two hours from Durban. The six cottages are situated on a working stud farm in the heart of the breathtaking KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. All the cottages are superbly equipped and self-catering.

We are able to cater to everyone's desires from large family groups of up to 15 in our quaint double storey cottages on the banks of a well stocked trout dam to our delightful secluded thatch honeymoon cottage. Bellwood represents the best you can find in personalised farm service including roaring fires, tea, coffee, open fires, bedding, electric blankets, stove, fridge, a microwave oven, a TV and braai facilities.

Situated on a 585-acre stud farm with impressive walks and wide open spaces, the best that KwaZulu-Natal province has to offer. Children are welcome and our farm life provides entertainment for all ages with an abundance of farmyard animals to keep everyone entertained. Children's playground is available.

A two-kilometer hike brings you to the picturesque village of Nottingham Road, a central position of the famous Midlands arts and crafts meander including some of the oldest pubs in the province. For those with a sporting inclination, tennis and golfing facilities can be pre-arranged.

We hire facilities for conferences and small weddings.

A Cast Away

A tranquil country retreat is not all that Bellwood has to offer! Our four family cottages are on the banks of a well stocked 16 acre trout dam with a smaller dam for the resolute fisherman. The large dam is 30 feet deep and is liberally stocked with rainbow trout. The smaller dam is filled with both rainbow and brown trout. We aim to satisfy keen fishermen and sizes of the trout range from 1 to 9 pounds. The larger dam has three rowing boats. We are very close to a well-equipped flyfishing shop and Nottingham road village boasts a local butcher who is available to smoke all your catches. Pre-booked trout fishing lessons, hiring of rods and float tubes on request.

All rates quoted INCLUDE VAT and we do not offer credit card facilities.

Please note the following important information regarding our rates:

Rates quoted are for a minimum of 2 or more nights over a weekend and no minimum applies to bookings from Monday to Thursday.
Single-night weekend rates are available on application.
All minimum charges on cottages will increase over long weekends, Easter, Christmas, New Year and certain weekends e.g Midmar/Comrades, etc..

Please Note: The minimum charges only apply if this amount is less than the rate per person per night.

No day visitors are allowed. Should guests wish to invite friends, prior permission must be obtained from the Management. Subject to the number of guests, a levy of R60.00 (incl.14% VAT) per person will be charged. Kindly note that no pets are allowed.

Fly Fishing

The rod fee is R80.00(incl.14% VAT) per day, which includes two fish caught, irrespective of size.
