Description

After a restful night’s sleep, watch the sun come up over the horizon as sparrow hawks glide through the sky.

Following a sumptuous breakfast, relax in the garden under one of the 100 year old oaks, spend the morning strolling through the gently wooded acreage or lounge next to the sparkling pool and watch the sun chase shadows over the valley.

Elegance of a bygone era can be seen with the original hand-carved banister of the staircase leading down to the candle-lit dining room with its open fires and the warm wood tones of the intimate bar. Only 1h15mins drive from Durban or a 3hr 45min drive from Johannesburg, Lords of The Manor is surrounded by 25 acres of land, graced by stately fir and oak trees dating back to when the manor was built. Whether you’re looking to relax by doing nothing at all or want an action-packed stay, Lords of the Manor is perfectly situated to offer you the best of both. Golf, fly-fishing, horse riding, hiking, game viewing, quad biking, tennis, and, of course, peace and quiet, are all within close proximity.

Accommodation

Each suite at Lords of the Manor is tastefully and stylishly decorated in old English Manor style, providing you with everything you need for ultimate comfort and relaxation. All suites are en-suite and are equipped with LCD TV’s DSTV, a bar fridge, a safe and a telephone as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

Our luxurious suites vary in size, with the honeymoon suite in a class of its own. 8 of the suites are situated away from the main house, all of which have breathtaking views and enjoy the same facilities as the main house.

Honeymoon Suite:
Whether you are on honeymoon or just feel like treating your loved one to a weekend of luxury, our exclusive Honeymoon Suite, in a class of its own, is worth every penny. The suite consists of a bedroom and lounge, both equipped with fireplaces for cosy winter evenings, and a lavish, romantic bathroom.

Executive Suites:
Second to the Honeymoon Suite, our 3 Executive Suites are the largest in the Manor, offering you plenty space to relax and unwind in the comfort of your room.
There are 3 Executive Suites, 2 of which have the added luxury of a gas fireplace.

Classic Suites:
Our 6 Classic Suites, while slightly smaller than the Executive Suites, offer the same luxury & comfort. These tastefully decorated rooms provide you with all the facilities you need including a flat screen TV, DSTV, tea & coffee making facilities and an en-suite bathroom.

Family Room:
You are welcome to bring your kids over 12 years old to join you for your stay at Lords of the Manor. The 2 bedroom family suite is ideal, giving you the privacy of your own luxury room with fireplace, and the convenience of having your kids next door in the same suite. The children’s room consists of 2 single beds and a bathroom is shared between the 2 bedrooms.

Manor Suites:
We have 5 Manor Suites, situated on the Estate grounds, away from the Manor house itself. Enjoy the same luxuries as the indoor suites with the added benefits of lovely Midlands views from your own private deck.

Restaurant

The imposing original handcrafted staircase leads to our elegant a-la-carte restaurant famous for fine dining and vintage wines. Enjoy candlelit dining and log fires for a tranquil and romantic evening. Our executive chef works his magic using carefully selected fine, fresh produce from surrounding farms.

Weddings

If a small, intimate wedding in a luxurious country setting is what you’re after, then Lords of the Manor is the venue for you. Within our idyllic grounds lies a quaint chapel perfect for that very special wedding. From the chapel, move on to the restaurant which will be decorated just the way you want it. Here, you and your guests can relax and enjoy our exquisite cuisine before dancing the night away. Our Chapel and Restaurant can cater for wedding parties of 50 or less. You will be guaranteed of excellent service and personalised attention throughout your wedding planning process right up to your special day.

Conferences

Our conference facility situated in the Manor House, offers the ideal environment for boardroom meetings, seminars and conferences for up to 35 delegates. Our all inclusive conference packages will provide you with all the facilities you need as well as delicious meals to keep you all going throughout the day.

Special Occasions

Lords of the Manor offers the perfect intimate venue for that special occasion. With a beautiful chapel on site, our venue is ideal for Christening lunches and Renewing of Wedding Vows. Celebrate that special birthday with the friends and family closest to you by wining and dining in our gourmet restaurant that can comfortably seat a party of up to 48 guests, before retiring to your rooms to rest in your luxury suite.

- I was supprised to find an English styled manor in South Africa, my wife and myself found the rooms absolutely amaizing.The food was a gastronomic treat and the staff so friendly, we recomend the Manor as an ideal place to get some rest romance and recreation.

- for att Carmen, i flew out to attend the Munro wedding and the gathering of the clan. Craig Munro my nephew as u know was responsible for a lot of the financial contribution. I felt all went splendidly considering it was the first wedding held there under new management or since the refurbishment. My only complaint which was not taken further was that the Royal breakfast started too late and that my brother Colin who is Head of the Clan did not have a seat and subsequently went without breakfast despite my attempts to even go to the kitchen and get him a tray. He was not amused. So perhaps in the future the bridal party and parents and immediate family should get preference and a table reserved for them to that effect. From Johannesburg, take the Hidcote offramp and turn right at intersection. Continue for a further 5 km's then take the Lords of the Manor /Midlands Saddle & Trout turn off to the right, continue for 1km and turn left into Lords of the Manor. From Durban, go through the Mooi River Toll Plaza, take the second turn off , Hidcote, and turn Left at intersection. Continue for a further 5 km's then take the Lords of the Manor /Midlands Saddle & Trout turn off to the right, continue for 1km and turn left into Lords of the Manor.
