Troutbagger Farm is situated 12km from Nottingham Road and 3km from the main freeway.
The farm is run by ex-charterboat captain and Springbok angler Gary Maas. Anyone who fished on Gary’s boat Carpetbagger will know that Gary always goes out of his way to ensure good fishing and a come-back-for-more weekend!

Troutbagger Farm offers excellent fishing in three dams. The best fish caught so far weighed just on 6.5kg, and anglers have had a lot of broken tackle to show for their attempts to land these beauties — so be prepared.

Rods and tackle can be hired from the farm, and Gary offers a guiding service to fish for trout and bass on other dams in the area for professionals and beginners.

For the ladies and non-fisherfolk, the area offers some splendid walks and opportunities for birdwatching. Gary’s wife, Shirley, is a great walker and can arrange guided walks across the farm, so bring your walking boots and get fit! Of course, if you prefer, you can just relax and enjoy red wine at the fireside, lots of natural game and peace and quiet.

Guests can also pick blackberries and raspberries in season and enjoy fresh farm eggs. The farm is close to the temptations of the Midlands Meander and all the local shops.

Come on over and bag a trout!
